linds and me.
out to dinner.
with some girl friends. she asked to go out with some of my girl friends while she was here! so i threw out a massive text to my dear friends and suggested dinner and a sunset! it was a blast!
linds came to visit last week. i hadn't seen her in 2 1/2 years. we hadn't talked all that frequently. but she is a friend that can just pick up. i am thankful for that! we lived together for a year in san diego, after working at camp together for two summers. she is quite the dear friend, even if we don't keep in touch regularly! it was so fun to have such a relaxed visit with her, and to catch up on each other's lives!
we have had a BUSY few days. but they have been good. yesterday, i heard the commander of the pacific fleet give a talk to spouses. while we were having brunch in admiral nimitz's old house. today, i watched a friend get promoted while sitting on the battleship uss missouri. i live in hawaii and experience history every day. and interact with heroes every day. i was struck at what a blessing it is!
i am surrounded by wonderful military wives who are an amazing support system! who "get" deployment and bad days and crazy kids. and i have wonderful friends who call or text or just show up and brighten my day! and for that, i am thankful!
