date day...

my handsome groom...

love this guy.  we were really going for the background, but you can't see it!

the old sugar mill at kualoa ranch...

the windward side...

a moai replica statue...

where jurassic park was filmed.  can't decide if david is laughing AT me... or at the fact that we are about to be eaten!!!

dinner...  no, seriously.  they are a working cattle ranch, and it's where we buy our beef.  i went home with about 10 pounds.  it's all local and grass fed.  can't get much better!  oh, and best price for grass fed beef on the island!!!

more of dinner, and the mountains!

if you look to the left of the palm tree... there is a hill.  the left side of that hill is a "gorilla face".  and facing it, in the shadow, there is another one.  it looks like kissing gorillas.  they used them at the end of "george of the jungle".  totally looks like cg in the movie, but it's totally real!

that's godzilla's footprint.  it used to be 8 feet deep, but they had to fill it in for the cows!  (working cattle ranch/also where movies are filmed!!!)

we had so much fun!!

on our bus/movie tour

in a world war 2 bunker than now houses movie paraphernalia.  this is the "lost" submarine!

chinaman's hat.  get it?

more ko'olau's.

those mountains on the right of the pic... there are over 100 hawaiian kings buried there.  the guys that buried them... had to kill themselves so that no one knows what lava tubes they are buried in.  those mountains are all "kapu"  (that's hawaiian for off limits...).  and legend has it, one of the burial tubes extends from honolulu (20 driving minutes away) to laie (23 miles away).  crazy, huh??

yup... that's where the kings are buried...  they can also have up to 30 waterfalls off the top of that mountain on a good day...  200 inches of rain a year!

our atv tour!

so fun...

my cowboy!!

on my horse...

more couple pics!

riding our horses...

on the jeep tour...

david loved these jeeps.  i tried to sell it as our next family car.  he wants a mini-van.  bummer!

anyway... we won this $235 day at david's Christmas party for the ship last year.  but due to being 9 months pregnant, and then an 8 month deployment, this was the first time we could really use it.  we had a BLAST!  oh, it also included lunch at the ranch house.  it was so good...  and such a fun, relaxing day just the two of us.  if you are coming to hawaii, totally recommend this tour!  it's just pricy.  we wished we could have done the ocean tour, but these crazy 40 mph winds prevented us from doing it!!  oh well... next time.

and, no trip up there is complete without a stop at the mac nut farm.  just for some nuts today.  no tour for us...
