prince and princess...

leaving our island...

i don't know if i mentioned it, but david's grandfather died a few weeks ago. he had cancer. and, thankfully, the kids, david and i got to see him a month before he died. we had a very nice visit. this past weekend was the memorial service for him. as david put it, it was a nice celebration of his life! and a wonderful weekend spent with family. david carried the urn from the church to the cemetery.

and looked so handsome that i had to pose with him afterwards. (chels... dress...)

driving back to david's parents, the fall colors were resplendent. the campus was covered with fallen leaves. and colors still on the trees. beautiful.

lobsters for sue's birthday dinner...

the birthday girl (thanks, sue, for being such a great mother in law, and raising such a WONDERFUL son! what a gift.)

nora's first pumpkin carving experience. she poked in teh back quite a bit.

then, did a little dressing up!

the hair makes the outfit!

my pirate. looks so fierce with his pac and lovey!

my husband's mid hat. i think wearing it earns me a kiss.

sweet boy! future career??

nora asked me to make a prince and princess out of her play-doh. this is what she got. unfortunately, their heads kept falling off.

crossing one bridge. another in the distance. in the distance, you can see the "toll" bridge. this one... free!!! and, i had to run to massachusetts today to get a new power cord for our mac. and this bridge is quicker!! whoo hoo!!

busy day... james had a doctor's appointment (his 18 month check up. he's almost 20 months). he is 23 pounds 4 ounces. that's 12%. thirty-two and 1/4 inches. that's 32%. and, his head is 64%. awesome. i have a kid with a big head. a short, skinny kid with a big head!! (hopefully, that means he's smart!!!) we left with a few referrals, and all was well!! a quick, easy, painless appointment. and, the exam table was a firetruck!

after the doctor's, we went to the gym! it was so fun to get a work-out in in the morning! and, the kids did pretty well. jamey screamed going in, but otherwise did fine. i had the most guilt. i know i shouldn't, but i don't like it. but, i love working out in the morning!!!

then, we ran to best buy. only to find out that we had to go to mass to get the part we needed. so, we went! (it wasn't far... 20ish minutes) the kids were hungry, so i decided to stop at panera for lunch for them. they had been such good kiddos! they were great through lunch. when i got up to throw the trays away, nora stood up on her chair and screamed for more. i told her it was gone, except crusts, and she could have those. i was walking back to her (i was only two tables away), and someone told me she was "wicked cute". (said like you would imagine someone from the south shore of boston saying "wicked".) then, she threw herself on the table. and jamey pulled out a CLUMP of hair. so she threw herself on the ground. and refused to get up. it was lovely. and we really struggled the rest of the day. i think, all things considered, i won, but it was LONG! and hysterical if it was someone else!! she screamed the whole way home. with her raspy voice (since she was sick and lost her voice this weekend!). thankfully, she was an angel tonight!!!
