baby bumpers!! so AMAZINGLY excited at how they turned out. i can't wait to set up the crib!!!

the baby bassinet. waiting on minky dimple dot fabric for the inside lining, then it will be done!

how i found the girl the other morning. her princesses were watching a movie...

i remember this one time, at band camp... i mean in college, i went on spring break with some girl friends and my mom and her girl friends. it was so much fun!! and aunt lu came to dinner. she brought a hostess gift. it was the first my friends had heard of it. so, when we got back to dreary, cold chicago, they brought me a hostess gift when they came over for dinner one night. i don't remember exactly what it was (help, anyone? i think tennis balls? and something else??), but we laughed so hard about it.

somewhere along the way, i haven't been in the hostess gift mentality. maybe it's having kids. maybe it's that we usually bring something anyway, when we go somewhere (part of dinner, bottle of wine, etc), so it got lost in my translation.

well, here EVERYONE brings hostess gifts. to EVERYTHING. so i am trying to be better about it. but, it's stress inducing! so tonight, we are going to a party at an admiral's house. what to bring? what if we are the only ones (i know... better to be overdressed than under, do more than less mentality, so probably okay...)?

also, in case you were wondering... what to wear is also stress inducing! the dress is "aloha crisp". for women, that means "semi-formal, conservative attire, sandals okay". at least for the men, they are more descriptive. "khaki pants, aloha shirt or other button down, no open toed shoes". men have it so much easier!!!

and in case you were still wondering, nora is still afraid of "in the jungle". the song. when our iTunes comes on, she plugs her ears until she knows it's not that song. seriously. and if it does, it's hysterics until someone can change it!!!
