manic monday...

an old project i did... leftover fabric scraps and some white towels i wasn't using.

in retrospect, i should have actually trimmed the fabric to make sure it was even, but it works! and they match our downstairs bathroom so well!

new shoes! $11 at gap. and i LOVE them. they are also super comfy... and something different than the 5 pairs of "slippers" (flip flops) i had been wearing!

she is OBSESSED with writing her letters. any letters. or, she'll sit there and ask me how to spell something. it's so sweet!!

boy likes to nuzzle into the couch corner. he burrows under the pillows.

so describes me today. manic monday. one of the frustrations of living on an island is that by the time i get up and moving at 8am, it's 2pm east coast time. so i have to feed my starving kids breakfast and make all calls, especially "businessy" ones like to 800 numbers about insurance, etc, soon. made me a little manic today. especially cause it was more of a fight. on the flip side, we do have good insurance, and the amount of times i have to dispute a charge is so rare.

today was a long day. we were home all day. and that usually makes me more aware of things i want to help my children with (ie, less whining... better responses..). i left when david got home to go meet with some other wives. nora told david at bedtime, "you are the only one that likes me today". BREAK. MY. HEART!! (granted, there was a TON of whining today...) guess we'll have to change that perception tomorrow. (for the record, when there is discipline, there is ALWAYS a hug and usually snuggles after. and repeated saying of "i love you". so that they know that i still love them, regardless of offense! and i even apologized for my attitude today!!!)
