some fun we've had...

last year. FREEZING... littler kids. a different location. same friends! we got to be there with (most of) the b fam again!

i lost this girl today. she was playing in this little play house. i was standing 10 feet away in line for the face painting. she was supposed to come over to me. soon, i realized that i hadn't seen her blonde head in the house recently. (i was, in fact, watching!!) in the sea of red shirts, i couldn't find her. thankfully, one of the teacher's did, and it was only seconds of panic. but, my girl was scared. she was so sad for so long. i was so thankful!

loving the view...

i just loved this shot!!!

does your pumpkin patch look like this??

enjoying the corn maze...

fearlessly foraging her way in the maze.

hmmm... which way now???

getting her arm painted.

all he wanted to do all day was pick a pumpkin.

picking pumpkins... (they lay them out every morning, pick up the unused ones every night. yes, they do get shipped in from the mainland.)

love this man!

picking out their pumpkins...

on the hayride...

that is rabbit island. in the ocean. that we could see from the pumpkin patch. it RAINED. and RAINED for awhile this morning. but it kept the temps down, so it was really nice for the morning! so much fun! david ran into a classmate of his from usna, and his daughter is one of jamey's "girls". (since you can't be a buddy if you are a girl, according to a certain four year old.)

on the hayride...

at the navy ball with fish... a friend from newport, and her hubs...

my sweet kids and the costumes they got this weekend! thanks mom-mom!!

she is a HUGE fan of this new ariel costume!!

and he runs around proclaiming, "i am buzz lightyear"!!

such a fun weekend. when we woke up this morning, nora was SHOCKED that daddy was home and asked, "why are you home all week?". it was so sweet. we are so glad he got to be with us on the pumpkin patch field trip today...

tonight, we replanted my veggies. in a sweet planter my hubby made! i will take a pic tomorrow. can't wait! nora's super excited! we've been eating tomato soup all week, using herbs from our garden. she loves it. and is excited that everything we will grow is gluten free! she can't wait to pick it!!

our weekend... so far...

my kids at breakfast the other day. when we were on ichat with mom-mom, nora would put them in and look at my mom. then my mom would freak out, and "get" my attention. then nora would quickly take them out and look at me so innocently and ask, "don't my teeth look perfect, mom?". this went on forever. she's going to be a handful!!!

goggly eyes!!

at our mops fall carnival with friends. (all four in my care! wow... rethinking my four kids in seven years idea!!! but really, they were great. and so fun to watch!)

listening to story time. so sweet...

on friday, we went to watch daddy's ship pull in. and then, we drove pier side to see how long it took (to see if we could beat the ship, for when they pull back in from deployment...). nora was so fascinated watching the ship pull pier side. all the work the heroes did. how the heroes would come off the ship to see their sons and daughters. it took awhile to get her to realize that daddy wasn't coming off right away. he had to finish working and then would be home for dinner! (next time we do that, we will make sure daddy knows so that he can at least come wave!!!) it was so sweet. i think she really remembered when andy came home from his deployment!

we had dinner several nights with leigh and kids. one night, we met at our favorite joint and then rode the monorail that connects the two parts of the mall. (it's confusing. don't ask...)

last night was the navy ball. i didn't bring my camera (i know... the world might be coming to an end!), but they are going to email us the formal pic so i can post it on here, and i will try to get ahold of other people's photos. it was so much fun. i'll ramble about that when i post the pics.

05 October 2011

we're (almost) famous!!

so, i HATE to throw things away. i had this shirt that i shrunk (it's linen... needed washed...). i LOVED it. i bought it at this little boutique called eddie rodriguez. they had the BEST sales... and then went out of business... with 75% off sales on their new lines! it was great. i think someone else has one like it... jenn? linda?? so glad i saved it, because it's so cute on nora!!

speaking of... nora's bedding was the bedding i bought right after college. and couldn't throw it away, even when david wasn't a huge fan of the wonderful pink bedding! now, it's on nora's bed. and every time i change it to the pink sheets, i think of my wonderful dad. who... when i could only afford one set of sheets with it, bought me the pink ones, so i could have a spare.

and jamey's bedding. it was my college bedding for four years. i remember buying it with my mom. wanting to buy a second duvet (because of course i can't find it anywhere now!)... trying to match with my roomie... we didn't and that was okay, too! but, i liked it and it was nice and couldn't bear to get rid of it. now, the limes and blues and yellows are great in his room! (and still wishing for that second duvet!!)

what i wore today... david's gone this week.. (which of course meant jamey got an ear infection and the kids throw fits at bedtime for me... and NEVER happens when he's home!!) so the room is a mess!

jamey's halloween costume. he is OBSESSED! he loves it. and even keeps the hat on! it's so sweet... it was worth the $22 in shipping to get it here!!! (yes, more than i paid for the costume. and yes, i probably could have made it. but, it was more worth it to get a good one... and david really was all about it. i would have made him be "handsome prince charming" in the tux we already own!!)

getting his baby on. our sweet friend, patrick. we had a lovely lunch at their house this week, and i was snuggling on patrick. david kept hovering and finally i asked if he wanted to hold the baby. he jumped at the chance! i LOVE THIS MAN!!

my children. and their awesome teeth. nora thinks they are hysterical!

today i have four kids! my two, and two friends (while they move into their new house...). and they could almost all be mine... if nora and little c were twins! mmm... not sure how i feel about four under six. might have to rethink this plan!!! (seriously, though, the kids are great and having a blast. i will definitely have to rethink how carseats are situated in my car, because nora can't buckle hers with three across right now. so that meant i had to buckle four kids in today... i think that was the worst part! i was super hot and tired and climbing all over all the car seats to get buckled! the four kids at our mops fall carnival was EASY!)

and... check this out!! the fifth hotel. i talk about it here... and here... you know... were we go see the dolphins, get valet parking with lunch, and enjoy a GORGEOUS beach! and, it's one of the top five celebrity secret resorts! sweet.. (and no, i have not seen a celebrity there yet. but, may have to go back more often! and yes, i do look! not that i would be obnoxious... at least to them. only to my wonderful readers!!!)

beach pics...

turtle bay resort...

a panoramic view...

LOVE that all beaches are public... even at the resorts! (although, we were with guests!)

uncle matt thought this was HILARIOUS!!

cheese...

doesn't like to let go of her board... even for lunch!

shave ice!

uncle matt was in heaven!

we met daddy for dinner. so much fun! i love being married to that handsome man (and check out his awesome aloha shirt!)

so, we are potty training. so far, i have gone 4 times, james-0. but, at least neither of us have had accidents! and my children apparently have their daddy's bladder! but, it's been FOUR HOURS!! come on kid... the thrill of sitting on the potty is losing it's fun. as is that i have blocked off everywhere but our kitchen and dining area (since it's the only non-carpeted place!). but, i turned our tv, so they could watch from the kitchen. and printed off coloring pages. and bribed with food. and drinks. and candy. fun times.

one more... for luck!

my little poser...

there was supposed to be a video, but david's phone didn't send it. so... just one extra pic!

daddy date...

smiling with the giraffe...

eating shave ice in their new wagon (neighbor asked if we wanted it for free. david tried to say no... i YELLED at him! we always say yes to free cool things!!... like a cool ship's clock!)...

at the keiki zoo (that's children's zoo for you non-hawaiians).

being swarmed by the birds again. david was a little disappointed that the kids only wanted to play at the park in the middle of the zoo. they are not too into the animals at this stage. they do LOVE the keiki zoo.

and i loved my morning to run errands!

you might be mad, but...

sweet boy, and his cool dudes. eating breakfast!

coloring after breakfast...

david's gift to me this week!!

they were redoing the wardroom (the officer's dining room on the ship), and getting rid of this. so, he brought it home!!

doesn't it look so good on my walls??? he said, "you might be mad, but i brought this home for you..." i told him he could bring home stuff like that anytime!!

i found a savers this weekend. for those of you not from the east cost... it's a thrift store. so, i got jamey a pirate's hat and nora a wig. for her halloween costume! (both were new from their halloween store...) so much fun!!

jamey's new affinity for planking. he will do this routinely. anywhere. yesterday it was the sidewalk. friday it was the beach. it's awesome... and he does it not knowing about the planking phenomenon...

we have had a fun weekend... more pics on that soon! but a very fun weekend. relaxing. a lot done! i had a great trip to savers where i found some pumpkins. i had been wanting some for crafts, but i didn't want to pay full price to redo them! super excited!!

i also got a new bassinet for the baby! and i can't wait to redo it! also, super cheap!!! i also got some wood to build myself a big planter and transplant my veggies and herbs. so excited about that!!

all that while david took the kids to the zoo. then we babysat a friend's baby. she's about 10 months old. and nora took care of her forever! it was so sweet... she was so enamored of this baby. and jamey even played super nicely with her, too! it was so much fun. i can't wait for them to be big siblings!!!
