i think i like it better looking through the picture. i wasn't sure how i would like the combo as curtains. but i love it! and i really do love them together in general (which is good, cause i hear there is a quilt coming with these fabrics!!!)
the nursery corner... getting ready for some Christmas guests before a baby buddy moves in...
a new kiddo bath towel. love how it looks! i love the two colors. his brother got one in all green. i can't wait to get a pic of the two together!!!
a certain dear friend of ours got back from deployment today. his fam is so excited, david is so excited to have his good friend back... we are so proud of him and so thankful for what he's been doing!!! welcome back b!!!
today was a GREAT day for us. i had great intents of taking the kids to the beach, the splash park, something. but, we didn't get out of bed until 8:30am. (me, not them... someone started a book when she should have gone to bed. and then finished the book. at midnight.) the kids slept in well, since they didn't nap yesterday, and we had a party and played all day.
i have also been burning old dvd's of our home movies. we watched some of the old ones. and played. and snuggled. and ate lunch. and then all took naps. and then i cleaned my house. it looks GOOD! (side note... baking soda. BEST. INVENTION. EVER!! i had a huge, construction paper stain on my countertop. it got it all. all of the pink. gone.) and got dinner made. and had a great phone call with a friend. and had a friend for dinner. and my house is still clean. and kids are in bed. and i am waiting (again) on a phone call. here's hoping the comms are better tonight.
OH!!!! forgot to mention my wake up call at 6:30 am. in the split second it all took to register that the phone was ringing, i was:
a. annoyed that my phone was ringing so early and my kids actually weren't up yet. and i had gone to bed late...
b. knew it couldn't be my mom, or most other people since it was the home phone, and no one really has that number. or they would call my cell phone first
c. knew the only one calling that early would be david or his ship. and that david wouldn't call that early when he is only gone for 8 days. (we have talked about how at some point, he WILL wake me up when he calls. but i would SO MUCH RATHER talk to him at 2am than not talk to him at all. that is so much more important to me!!!)
d. was then sure, since it wasn't david, or family, or anyone else, they were calling to tell me that something happened to david on the ship. something was wrong!
so, after that split second, i RACED to the phone (since i don't have an answering machine, so i would just miss it! and since david isn't deployed, the phone isn't next to my bed.)
it was a nice man calling from africa asking which account i would like my checks deposited in. i went back to bed. relieved. and angry!!!
