PICTURES TOMORROW!!!

promise... we just got home from disney... probably our last trip there for awhile. sad. very sad. but a fun day! so, pics will be posted tomorrow. but, david goes out of town in the morning, so i am going to go enjoy a few minutes with my husband. (currently he is packing... trying to do it in under 10 minutes!!)

so, today, we just went up for the day... vice our usual go up and spend the night. so, we left sadie to play outside. i forgot my phone and commented that that's the number on her tags/our neighbors have and would call if she got feisty! so, hoped she wasn't too much trouble. david then told me a funny story...

he had his blackberry with us, and read an email from our neighbor this morning. she emailed about a black lab for sale! it was a forward from another friend, but it did cross david's mind that maybe she was getting rid of our dog!! thankfully, no.

anyway... back and getting ready for bed. we had a wonderful day at disney. and a HAPPY HAPPY birthday to auntie rebecca!!! (such a GREAT aunt!)

nora's new favorite game is to be "princess piona" (or fiona... shrek). she will go lay on her bed, eyes closed, lips pursed and await her rescuer! today, she was in there for almost ten minutes before being "rescued". i thought she had gone in with a pacifier and was hiding! nope, just awaiting "shrek" to come in and be her rescuer. she tells you what you have to say and says the appropriate thing back. then, holds your hand as you, the rescuer, lead her home. it's too cute!!

jamey and i got his one year pictures done today. they are TOO cute! what a big boy!

nora woke up and wanted to go straight into her pool. it was FREEZING... probably 60*.

it's amazing to me what kids pick up on. i have been trying to encourage "oh my goodness" versus "oh my gosh". (i fought my mom on it for YEARS growing up... and now that i have kids of my own, again, my mind has changed!!! oh man... MY MOM IS ALWAYS RIGHT!!! it just may take me years to get it!) so, upon hearing "oh my gosh" the other day, nora turned to me and said "i say oh my goodness mommy"!!! it was too stinking cute! and i was so glad that my reinforcements have stuck! at least for now...

today, we went to "buh-yeah" (emphasis on the "yeah"). (ballet) it was so much fun! nora was pretty young, but i think did pretty well. it was sweet. she loved it! and it was so fun to watch her!

then, the car broke down. battery died. bummer. we were actually getting james new shoes and the battery died in the parking lot. long story. my fault. but, we pushed the car out of the space and a sweet lady helped me to jump the car. it was an experience!

off to a date with my hubby... (yes, my hair is in that aforementioned turban! remember the curler turban... i ran outside wearing it....)

so, james learned a new trick. in addition to patty-cake, he can fake cry! it's too funny, but i think i made him do it too much! (although, he hasn't done it since the video!!) what a sweet, cute boy! he will take a few steps holding our hands now, and today i watched him consider letting go of the coffee table to grab the couch. but, it would have required a step on his own! so, for now, he's sticking with cruising and crawling!

nora is getting the idea of "conversation". last night at dinner, she asked david: "so, how was work today daddy?". then, "what did you do?". then, she turned to me and said "are you going to run tonight mommy?". it's so cute that she hears what we say and mimics that. and gets the flow of conversation... waiting for the response, whatnot.

and james has learned to fake it! he's been fake whining and fake laughing or coughing! it's so cute. and it's fun to watch his face when i call him out on it! what a fun little boy! he loves cruising all around... and his sister loves to play with him. i just have to remind her that he is NOT her hostage. he can leave and play something else if he wants!

the best laid plans. so, got up at 7:30 this morning. i should say got out of bed. i had a little girl in my room for a bit before that, but she amused herself with easter eggs (empty). but, at 7:30, i sat up with a start, remembering that i had a doctor's appointment this morning. at 8:45. i wanted to leave between 8 and 8:15. and james was still in bed. and we were all in jammies!

so, i got up while nora played and got ready. then, gave nora unders and she got herself dressed (in princess dress and NEW glass slippers (almost her size that light up) from mom-mom for Easter!!), and i got james ready. fed him and made nora and me our morning shake! cleaned up the backyard so sadie couldn't destroy anything. threw kids in the car, and got there. missing the rain. the door was locked, so i waited a few (i was EARLY!!), and then knocked. the lady looked at me and said "i wasn't expecting a crew like you today"... um, i have two kids, no family in the area, and figured it would be a quick appointment, so didn't want to use up friend points on this quick visit!

come to find out. she wasn't expecting us. period. my doctor was at his OTHER office today. so, took kids back to car. PAID for parking, got over to office. a nice quick visit to tell me that my moles don't look like melanoma! and, kids were a dream. but, just goes to show you... the best laid plans. or, pride goes before a fall!! (i was so proud at being early, being out the door so put together...etc!) oh well... the good news!!! we missed the rain every time we were getting in and out of the car!!! whoo hoo!!!

and then... got home and got to have a nice, LONG chat with a bestie!!! miss those...
