it didn't dawn on me until someone posted on fb that it was brave to say goodbye at school.  had d been leaving for longer, it might have been even harder, but i also think it was so good for the kids to distracted!  (i went back and got them after i dropped david off at the ship, and we watched the ship leave!)

c will routinely say, "daddy ship bye bye.  daddy hero".  it's precious.  he knows his daddy is a hero.  he knows his daddy is special!  i am so thankful for that.
