james had a field trip to the pumpkin patch today- chris and i met him there.  it was so much fun.  his face just lit up when he saw us...  i love that he still wants me around!  i know that he may not at some point...  (although, i still haven't hit that point with my parents!!)

and a halloween party last weekend.  nora is a lalaloopsy- a popular doll.  james is wearing uncle andrew's peter pan costume that grammie made... and c is in a dalmatian costume that grammie made for uncle andrew, too!  fun to use those costumes that are 25+ years old!!!  and made with such love...

james has been alternating between peter pan and larry boy... depending on his mood.  but, he keeps asking to wear his "peter pan jeans" (aka- sissy's leggings) everywhere...  i keep telling him it's only for halloween!!!

i took d on a surprise date this weekend.  he has been begging to see "captain phillips" and we had a bunch of stuff planned on the weekend nights recently.  so, i got a sitter for 1-5 pm.  and he got to eat at arby's (his favorite fast food here) and we had so much fun... and everyone still got to do their parties!  

in one of david's previous jobs, he had the opportunity on several occasions to meet and chat with captain phillips.  which made it even more fun for him!  d asked him at one point, "who would play you in the movie?".  we had a blast...  

currently, they are playing a game of tag.  chris asked for it.  it's so sweet to watch him be the instigator and want to play with the big kids now.  and daddy is chasing them around.

i promise, i do love the other children....  this is just the balance for him being the third.  i have a ton of alone time with him right now, so he gets a lot of pictures...  like the others did when they were little.  and they get less pictures for now...  but, man, we have fun!  chris is saying so many more things right now.  and nora loves playing with him.  we were at a party the other night for her friends, and she spent a TON of time playing with chris, not her friends!!!  it was precious!!!

so, chris has a ton more words, and is really trying to communicate!  it's so much fun.

a new bag...  we are making these in our moms group this week... so this is my trial!

i really want to be a good housekeeper.  the theme of our moms' group is "a beautiful mess".  and that so adequately describes my life.  and i don't want to just sink in to it, because it's true.  it is easy to say, "i have three kids, we were busy, this is my mess!"  but, i love walking in to the homes that there isn't clutter (that i can see at least), or where the weeks worth of (albeit clean) laundry is piled up.  where dinners are planned and ready and not thrown together.  where piles don't pile up on any available horizontal space.  

and i am realizing we have CLUTTER.  and FAR. TOO. MUCH. stuff!  i think that's one of the reasons i can't wait to find out this baby's gender...  i want to get rid of the crazy amounts of baby clothes i have been holding on to!!  and the baby stuff...  and really, a whole bunch of stuff in the play room...  i feel a purge coming on!!  

it might be knowing that when we move, wherever we move, we will most likely lose about 1000 sq feet of space.  we have been so blessed here...

we had such a blast.  it was fun to have a special day with just c!  so often i have all three, and c gets a little left out.  or managed.  so it was fun to really enjoy it with him!  (and totally didn't realize we were matching until after!)

we have had busy weeks.  sick kids.  tired mommy.  a daddy who is very busy at work.  but, we have been having fun.

okay... a little about the kids.  c has been sick- and he is BEGGING for his bed recently.  he doesn't want snuggled or sung to.  he wants BED.  today, he turned off elmo, begged me to take him upstairs.  i tried to play with him in his room (it was WAY too early for his nap), but he JUST. WANTED. TO. SLEEP.  so i let him!
