sweet berry farm.
we went raspberry picking today.
intent on finding the best raspberry.
he was great at it!!!
nora told me after that her eyes were closed. and i just realized i didn't edit this pic, so it's all washed out. but, man, did we have fun today! b slept through the entire thing (i totally regretted not bringing the stroller!!!). j complained that we were going to do this and he hated raspberries. i finally told him to suck it up and i would buy him a lollipop if he stopped whining. (great parenting, i know!) i think he had the most fun, and then asked to try a raspberry. and LOVED it! a win for me!
we bought veggies for dinner and also a gluten free pound cake from the little market at the farm. and put our raspberries and some whipped cream on top. amazing. the kids loved that they helped so much with dinner/dessert.
so much more to say and so many more pics about this last month. it will come. but for today, here you go! it was a fun month, and a gift at that. i loved having david around for so much of the time. and bouncing from house to house.
tonight, i sit on our (uncovered) new couch, after we ate dinner outside on the chairs we have. kids are in sleeping bags on the floor (chris is on a mattress we took from my parents...). we are sleeping on an air mattress. our food is cooked in on of three pots/pans. we borrowed a knife from church. we are using paper/plastic ware.
but it's fun. and an adventure. our stuff is supposed to arrive by july 29th. we're hoping for a bit earlier!!! the kids have the toys/activities they could fit in their backpacks. they complain that they are bored occasionally, but for the most part are doing well.
it's weird/fun to be back in a place we have lived. there is so much the same (or vaguely familiar) and so much that is different. we weren't here for a summer last time, so that is also fun! (although, we have yet to make it to the beach!!)
there you go... time to go snuggle on our plasticy couch with my hubby!
