in early jan, we were getting some big waves. nothing compared to this last week, but c and i went up with our friend to see them. he was so bummed that i wouldn't let him near the water... let alone out "far"!
we saw this sea turtle swimming in the break. it was amazing.
we went to kono's and again, chris stole my breakfast! it was so good... and how can i not let him!
he was paying me back for not letting him get in the ocean... he drenched himself in the showers!
and had a blast playing on the sand!
love the random girl time!
and this view!!!
then, daddy took the kids to the pool. this kid has the right idea!!!
on mlk jr day, we took a walk to the park and then the minimart for icees. daddy usually takes them. they let mommy come this time! (and in return, i didn't judge the sugary, red dye they were drinking!!!) it was such a fun weekend, even though we didn't do much!
today, i took the kids to see "frozen" (their fourth time), with chris in tow. let me tell you... a two year old in a movie should be an olympic event. seriously! but, we had a good time. we went with several friends... and then all went to dinner. it was a good day (trying to "laugh" more with the kids!)
i went to bed last night, frustrated and discouraged. i feel like i am fighting a losing battle with the kids and their attitudes. and then i remember that i see them 24/7, and it IS supposed to be hard work to raise kids! and that they really are pretty good kids. this morning, during the children's sermon at church, the kids were asked a question. james answered it correctly, and even better than the pastor expected! it was so cute and the audience was wowed (honestly, so was this momma... he usually can't sit still long enough to hear the question!). he even commented to me after how impressed he was with james. and my heart melted, because i realized that in spite of my blood, sweat and tears (and sometimes, lack of laughing), they are HEARING me. and more importantly, hearing the important things!
the same with nora. they both (even chris) surprise me so often when i can see their tenderness and love. so i am working on laughing more. and having fun! (in the midst of correcting and training and cooking and cleaning!
