hard drive full...

so, i went to download the pics from my phone to my computer.  because, let's face it, i don't use my real camera any more.  i WANT to.  but, i am usually holding a baby and at least one other hand.  so the fact that we have pictures is a miracle!  a miracle called my iPhone!  and i will take my phone pics, because it means we have them for posterity.  they aren't the most beautiful.  but they are.

and, my computer wouldn't download them.  because my hard drive was too full.  and i had to hunt down where i unpacked my external hard drive so i could move stuff over and delete.  oh, and then i had to find the time to do that!

so, that's all done.  but now, i just have to get my phone cord to connect to my computer.  tomorrow, i think!  or tonight, while football is on.  i can snuggle next to my mr. and enjoy his company while downloading pics and blogging!  i like doing that!

but for now, you get my ramblings.  about four kids.  as i started to write this entry, i knew i was on borrowed time.  this is my quiet time during the day.  littlest boys are napping, bigger two at school.  i have these (almost) two hours where i am alone.  i usually have my devotion.  a time, sweet time, with Jesus.  today, it was in my front room, looking down the street at the ocean, and reading.  and praying.

but these two hours.  they are QUIET.  except now- i hear the pitter-patter of little feet.  c is awake.  soon, he will be down the stairs to say, "i waked up".  i love that.  he's usually still a bit sleep-drunk.  and smiley!  he's afraid of getting his hair cut, and i don't have the energy to physically restrain him.  so he has this bleach blonde long hair.  i love it.

four kids is no joke.  my mom made it look easy.  (i think i said that, but i don't remember much these days... again, those four kids!)  our days are full.  and busy.  and life is happening.  but i am enjoying it.  and i really think the kids are, too.  i am trying to keep out the busyness just for being busy.  keeping only the important things.

and i write this because i want to remember this.  that it was busy.  and crazy.  and that we loved life.  we have bad days.  and i yell.  more than i want.  and i will get pictures.  just to prove it all!

after a whirlwind summer, we have finally settled in to fall.  we are enjoying the cooler temps (low 70*s, and the kids want hats and gloves!).  school is going well and we have settled into a nice routine.  it's nice.  chris is so communicative!  it's so fun to hear everything he has to say.  b is on the move- trying desperately to crawl.  nora is loving school and super motivated to get homework done fast!  love her drive.  and james.  he is all boy and all five years old.  everything is ninjas and he is all in in everything he does.  i love it!

david is enjoying his job.  we are enjoying the schedule.  it just feels like home now.  my heart still misses hawaii so often, but i am really enjoying being here and excited to see what God will do in these years here.

have i said how much fun we had with cousins?  my kids and i really enjoyed it!

b had his 6 month check up today.  he's 16 pounds, 7 ounces.  that puts him at 26%.  and he's 26.5 inches.  that's 50%.  and he started food this week.  he cannot get enough of it!  (wonder who he's related to??!!)

all of my stuff kicked off this week, so we have been developing a nice fall routine.  it was 65* the other morning and i was letting the kids play outside before school.  they asked for gloves and hats.  and yesterday, i drove to the bus stop, because i had to be somewhere right away.  the asked if i drove because it was so cold!  it's going to be a long winter...

b has been getting up on all fours and rocking, like he wants to crawl.  i am SO not ready for that yet. he's my BABY!!!

i am enjoying my afternoons from about 12-2:30.  all kids are at school or in bed.  it's so blissfully quiet in my house!  i had a friend over for lunch the other day.  or get stuff done.  i have tried to nap, but it just doesn't work!  but i feel so productive in those 2 hours!

nora taking some pics...

we came back from home and started right in to school.  it's been fun to watch the kids so far this year.  with the exception of james' wrong bus the first day, it's been easy.  i am thankful for the school and the friends they are making.  it's funny to watch my kids- j has several friends, but is only know learning their names.  nora has several friends, and knows their life stories, in addition to names!  fun to watch their little personalities!

chris and i are having fun figuring out our new normal.  and b just goes along for the ride!
