two months old!!!

tomorrow is nora's real two month birthday, but we had her visit today. the doctor said she is perfect!! (we knew that already). i tried to get a pic of her smiling, but this was as close as i could get. she's a fun girl and we have a good time together.

visits to the doctor are always long, because we stop by the floor i used to work on and see everyone. they all also agreed that nora is perfect! i can't believe how quickly two months have gone. she is in her swing now, hiccupping and talking to the birds that fly around it (part of the swing, not another pest in our house).

no other big events this week... but i will keep you posted! we are going to visit daddy at work tonight and take him dinner (he has to be there all night), so i am signing off for now...

back in san diego

the indians have clinched it!!! we bought the hat for daddy.... plus, she just looks so cute! so, we are back home now and getting very settled. i have started going to jazzercize (yes, as in 1980's jazzercize- i'm not too proud to admit it) and we have a great time there. nora just sits and watches (or sleeps) while i dance around the room!! a bunch of girls from church all go and invited me to join this week. i figured it was time to get back on the work-out wagon. so, we are having fun. and, it's a good workout!

nora loves to talk and smile now! (except in babies r us today, buying diapers, when she screamed the whole time. i would have just left, but we only had 3 diapers left...) we tried to go to the pool the other day, but it was naptime, so not nora's favorite thing to do. she enjoyed getting her feet wet, but that was about it! well... that's all for now!

OH-io

We are in Ohio now... Daddy let us leave him for two weeks. I am not sure who misses who more. As you can see, we LOVE bathtime and our pluggy... not necessarily in that order. She is growing and changing all the time. I am trying to get a smile on camera. She's doing a lot more of that. She also enjoys talkin to us as well. She has a lot to say for such a little girl!

We have had a great time visiting everyone in Ohio. And the weather has actually been pretty nice. Nora isn't quite sure what to do with all the green... grass and trees! We even had some rain. We head back to SD this weekend. Looking forward to seeing Daddy again! And, he can't wait to see how much she has grown and changed.

Nora is sleeping longer at night now. It's very nice for me! She usually sleeps around 4 or 5 hours each night. She eats, then goes back to sleep for another 3 hours. I actually feel quite rested.

She has an umbilical hernia now, which makes her belly button look a little funny! It should heal itself in the next few years and hopefully not cause any problems. I am praying it will just heal itself soon!

As you can see, we are loving bathtime. Actually, Nora loves most times of day. She is an angel.... alright... it should be time to eat now. More to come.

new developments!!!

okay, so this picture is a few days old, but she found her thumb. only once so far, but we are hoping she'll do it again! it just gets old trying to put the pluggy back again and again. she seems to be fairly aware of where her hands are. she grabs onto things- like hair! she makes the most adorable faces!!

yesterday was a very fussy day. almost all day. she wouldn't sleep like normal. she ate at weird times for her. and she slept a lot of the day. i was worried we were in for a very long night. around 9pm, i fed her. when she was done, she was WIDE awake! i figured i could stay up with her a bit, since david has to work! the eyelids started getting heavier, but she was still so fussy. i walked and sang (thankfully she hasn't realized that my voice is not going to win any american idol competitions!!). finally, she started to doze off. when she was asleep, i put her in her pack n play. that lasted about five minutes. so, i did it again. again, she fell asleep. so, i put her back down. this time, it lasted 2 minutes. so, david got up. he did the same thing (by the way, it's so cute to hear him sing to his baby daughter!!). and he put her down. that lasted about two minutes. you could say we were a little frustrated! finally, after his second try, she fell asleep for good. that was about 10:30 pm. she didn't wake up until 2:30 am!! after that feeding she went back to sleelp fairly quickly. at 6:40 am, david woke me up to kiss me goodbye! i have decided that i will take all that fussiness for a night of sleep like that! let's just hope it continues!!! (she woke up just after that to eat!)

one more thing, just to vent while i have your attention. if it's not one thing, it's another! last week, i found termites on my bed, descending from the wood beams above! i was a little grossed out!!! so, the guy came yesterday to get rid of them.

it's been HOT here! like in the 100's. yesterday was SO COOL!! (it was like 85). but we were still so hot, laying in bed. i figured it was just my hormones! david went downstairs this morning to discover that our A/C isn't putting out cold air anymore. if it's not one thing, it's another! okay, the best baby ever is crying... time to go!!

it's been awhile

it's been awhile. nora is five weeks old. the worrying is getting better. i just keep giving it to God! we are settling into a nice little routine. this past weekend brought more visitors- grandparents! we had a lot of fun playing tourists in san diego. the new mom and dad even got to go out for their anniversary! we had a great time. here is a shot of us, getting ready to go out.

it's crazy how in such a short time, neither of us can remember our lives without this little girl. both david and i think that nora smiled at us first. i keep telling david it was gas when she smiled at him! but, i have yet to elicit a smile again. maybe it was just gas for me, too.

this week, we have uncle andrew here. we are having fun. nora and i are also looking forward to being in twinsburg next week!! it will be fun to meet uncle david and aunt sarah for the first time!
